COMMON CORE EXPECTATIONS
AND INSTRUCTION
• Teach students higher levels of critical
thinking to solve problems.
• Students will be expected to read and
respond to a variety of documents, which will
include primary and secondary sources.
• Students will be expected to write and cite
textual evidence to support an analysis of
the text.
RELIGION
The 7th Grade World History curriculum focuses on
the different world religions – the main beliefs
(God/gods, practices, rituals, origins)…
Please contact me if you have a concern about any of the
topics covered. I will be more than happy to talk with you
about the standards.
GRADING
• Students are expected to turn in ALL work ON TIME
• Work that is late one day is given 90% credit.
• Work that is more than one day late is given 60%
credit.
• If your child is absent, he or she is given an extra
day (or more) depending on the length of the
absence.

• Grading will be based on content knowledge as well
as student ability to write fluently.

BEHAVIOR AND
CONSEQUENCES
• Respect yourself and others.
• Students will receive one warning and given the
opportunity to correct their behavior.
• Consequences after a warning will vary depending on the
issue and number of incidents. Consequences will range
from student conference, parent calls home, lunch
detention, afterschool detention etc.
