Things to remember as
you choose classes:
What is a Pre-requisite?

It is a class you have to take
BEFORE you can move to the next
level.

For example, you must Algebra 1-2
before Geometry and Journalism
before Newspaper or Yearbook.

Check the pre-requisites in your
course guide before choosing a
class.
What is Course Rigor and
Why is it Important?
Course rigor reflects the level of
difficulty of the classes you choose
to take in High School.
 If you have a 4.0 GPA but took the
easiest class load possible, it does
not demonstrate to colleges that
you are academically prepared to
be successful. Choose classes that
challenge you!

Work Hard to Pass Your

Earning D’s and F’s can seriously
impact your forecasting,
graduation and college plans (4year colleges do not accept D’s)

Fill out the top section

Choose English 3-4

Choose your Math and Science (talk with your current teachers about
levels)

Choose Econ/Gov or Constitution Team

Choose your Health selective and another semester class. Please choose
alternates for both.

Write in your World Language (leave blank if you have met the two year
requirement and no longer wish to take language)

Use the Course Guide to choose your Electives (pay attention to
prerequisites and *semester classes)

Go over your sheet with a parent/guardian and have them sign your sheet

Go to tinyurl.com/2017-18Forecast10 and fill in your courses online (you must
be logged into your school email)

Bring your forecast sheet to the SSC by Friday, January 13th

Counselors will be in the main hall during lunch next week to answer any
questions about forecasting
