Global Conference and Summer School on
Inter(Multi, Trans)disciplinarity, to be held in
2012. Collaboration with EMRC, LESC, PESC and
SCSS is sought.
Conference “Global Humanities – Innovation and
the Global Dimension of Research”, with a special
emphasis on:
• how to facilitate international collaboration
and interdisciplinary research
• how to address the Grand Challenges

Fostering interdisciplinarity: the future
The Summer School on Grand Challenges and
Interdisciplinarity aims to:
• enhance awareness for bridging disciplines and
research domains
• address questions as to how to educate young
researchers in interdisciplinary communication and work
• address issues of sharing implicit knowledge and
formal organizational barriers
Suggested topic for 2012 Summer School: Water: The
Past, The Present and The Future
