• “Op Art”
In the 1960's, the term "Op Art"
was coined to describe the work of
a growing group of abstract
painters. This movement was led
by Victor Vasarely and Bridget
Riley.

Riley is precise in her line work
to allow for maximum vibrant
interaction of the eye and
mind.

Vasarely’s paintings are some
of the most powerful examples
of Op Art.
He used a wide range of
mathematical methods using
grids.

flat surface.
The illusion is successful due to
the ways in which Vasarely used
color, shape, and line.
