Yushan (Jade Mountain)
Yushan, Jade Mountain, is the highest mountain of SouthEastern Asia. The lofty Main Peak is surrounded by
precarious cliffs and steep hills.

Both north side and south
side are precipices with
depth of thousands feet; the
west side is endless pit, and
the east side is a long steep
slope with numerous little
rocks. As the top of the Five
Mountain, king of all the
other hills in Taiwan, Yushan
with its magnificence and
beauty are also a place
accommodating precious
biodiversity.

For various climates coexist in this area, such as subtropical
climate, warm temperate zone, cool temperate zone and
subfrigid zone, making it possible to develop various flora
and fauna diversity.

Yushan is a habitat for
many of Taiwan’s
endangered species. Seen
from this perspective,
Yushan National Park is
more important than the
Pyrenees Mountains.

therefore is eligible to be
included in the World
Heritage List.

fortitude by the land and the people.Within the Yushan area,
cloud and fog often create an obscure view of the
mountains.
