Carbon cycle
The carbon cycle is
the complex path
that carbon follows
through the
atmosphere, oceans,
and soil; through
plants and animals;
and through fossil
fuel formation and
use.
How solar (silicon) cells work
When light hits a solar
panel, an electron in a
silicon atom is knocked
from its orbit. This free
electron is absorbed by
another silicon atom … and
on it goes from atom to
atom creating a movement
of electrons. This
‘electricity’ moves through
a wire into a motor
generating power to run
our appliances.
