Tourist features of Spain and
Catalonia
Historical Reference
 In Spain we can find a lot
of Roman ruins, historical
monuments from different
backgrounds and different
museums where you can
find an interesting variety
of paintings, sculptures ...
Roman ruins in
Spain and Catalonia
-· Our country was very
important in Roman times and
thanks to them, now there are
multitudes of Roman remains,
spread throughout the Spanish
geography among them, we
can mention for example: Segovia Aqueduct
-The Ruins of Empúries
(Girona)
Roman Ruins in
Tarragona
• The city of Tarraco, was in its
day the most important because
we can see great Roman ruins
all over the city. It was named
World's Heritage City.
Examples of Roman ruins:
- Amphitheater
- Aqueduct "Pont del Diable"
Museum in Spain and
Catalonia
In this country, there are large
variety of museums, which are
internationally recognized and
visited by great number of
people. For example:
- Museum of Prado (Madrid)
- Museum of Gaudí (Figueras)
Museum in Tarragona
Most of the museums that are
devoted to Roman antiques, but
also include other types of
museums, such as:
- Museum of Archeology
- Museum of Gaudí Center (Reus)
Monuments in Spain and
Catalonia
Great monuments surround the
cities of our country that
contain a great story. For
example:
- La Alhambra (Granada)
- La Sagrada Familia (Barcelona)
Monuments in Tarragona
There is a wide variety of
symbolic monuments, which
include:
-The Cathedral religious
monument.
- "Despullats", sculpture that was
built in memory of the heroes
of the war.
Beach, islands and lakes
in Spain
Several coasts around the coastal, are:
-Atlantic Coast
-Cantabrian coast
-Mediterranean coast
There are also the Balearic and Canary
Islands, which are chosen by a lot of
tourists .
The lakes, are not abundant in Spain,
as there are no major depressions sunk
beneath the sea level. Although there
are exceptions such as the EBRO
river.
Mountain landscapes
In Spain we have a variety of ski
resorts and rural places with
special charm that attracts a
large mass of tourists a year.
We also have a number of
nature reserves, some with the
function of protecting
endangered species, such as the
Iberian lynx.
Ski resorts in Spain
-Pyrenees
-Cantabric Mountain range
- Sierra Nevada
Mountain places in
Catalonia and Tarragona
 Pyrenees: The main resource to which
tourists flock to the snow for its variety of ski
slopes, but this claim does not fall over the year
since we have rural tourism and activities such as
hiking.
 Montserrat: One of climbing activities in
Catalonia with hundreds of ways, from sporty,
routes of several alpine routes or long runs of
about 300 vertical meters which combine all
styles of climbing.
 Prades: The main activity is the mountain
tourism. The town has several facilities that
provide recreational activities. It is located in
Tarragona.
Problems in different
tourist areas
-Coastal tourism: sea level rise (loss of a
significant number of beaches, delta
del Ebro)
-Mountain tourism: natural environments
are the most vulnerable to climate
change (deforestation, loss of wildlife
due to the fires.) In winter expected to
decrease the elevation of snow and the
disappearance of some resorts.
Conclusion
 After working on this project we got to the conclusion
that climate change produces a great impact in our
ecosystem, but for now not in our economy,so that our
previsions show us that there will be consequences in
a long time future, not in a short time and for that
society hasn’t really taken conscience yet.
