See the Double Bar Line Sign.

Time Signature
2/4, 3/4, 4/4, C
These are common time signatures.
(C=Common Time & is the same as 4/4)
The top number tells you how far you
will count in each measure. You start
counting with BEAT 1 at each new bar
line.
The bottom number tells you
what kind of a note will get 1 beat.
The area right after your music clef on
the music staff is called the
KEY SIGNATURE
