resilience to a changing
climate.

advice for councils.

inform the LGA’s lobbying work

Actions to explore Green Deal and ECO

Forest Council, Osbourne and British Gas.
• Up to £25m of ECO funding
• 6,000 properties.
• Up to 40 permanent jobs.
• Partnership with British Gas.
• £50m commitment for ECO and access to £50m
Green Deal finance.
• 140 new jobs expected to be created in total.
• 60% of Green Deal installations to be
undertaken by local SMEs.
Actions to support vulnerable communities
• Oldham Council, Oldham Housing Investment

• Fuel poverty seen as a priority area.
• Funding a £200,000 preventative service.
• Aiming to lift 1,000 people out of fuel poverty.

• Bunhill Energy Centre (2MW).
• Powers 850 homes across several estates, a
swimming pool and leisure centre.
• Cheaper, greener, locally-produced heat.
