Transcript Dorso

The skills of presentation are rightfully considered to be
rather demanding. However, there are some newly emerging
styles whose aspects can help to compensate for weak skills
of beginning non-native presenters.

1. Do you know how I usually feel when I need to give a presentation? There
is nothing in the whole world that can be worse for me! I must confess that I
am simply in panic!
Presentation? Nothing can be worse! I'm in panic!
2. Usually, at a conference or meeting, you are given only five minutes for a
talk. Is the first thing that comes to your mind that it is too little to get across
your ideas? What you need to do is to be brief and not to deviate.
3. Have you ever had a presentation when your listeners fell asleep after 5
minutes? This time you should use new strategies to avoid this situation! Or at
least you need to interact with them to keep them awake!

Good evening! My name is ____. Thank you for coming today.
Tonight, I'd like to report on our study into weather control. What I
want to do is to show you how we've made our first successful
steps in developing practical techniques to manipulate weather
effectively.
We all know that the problem of changing weather has always been
one of the most important issues since time immemorial. Great
historical events, some discoveries and just ordinary people’s lives
are all strongly dependant on natural calamities, unexpected
rainfalls and heat waves, or even minor changes in the conditions
of the atmosphere.
How many times have you wished you weren't under the weather?
Now imagine how different and how more controllable our life
would be, if we could tune up those whimsical "cats and dogs" to
our moods, desires and plans! Wouldn't it brighten up the day if we
could come rain or shine?
My talk will be in three parts…
