What is Music?
• A form of art or sound
consisting of a rhythm,
melody, or harmony
Rhythm
• A strong, regular, repeated
pattern of movement or
sound
Melody
• The tune or group of notes
played one after the other
Harmony
• The group of notes that supports
the melody and gives the music
“texture” or “mood” by playing
behind, beneath, and around it
How did it all start?
• The first instrument that was used by humans was
the voice. But there was also the bone flute found a
couple years before. And the clapping of hands,
hitting stones together, or things that just hit each
other to keep a beat could’ve been the first
percussion instruments.
