In Phase I AIT worked with URC and
participating countries to achieve the following
– Establish a country specific strategy approach
– Identify focal point agency to coordinate national
CDM activities and investment
– Develop a multi-year work plan for promoting
national CDM activities and investments.
•
Phase I achieved the following
– Identification of Focal Point Agency
– Finalization of National Workplan for Phase II
– Vietnam and the Philippines presented their National
Workplan at Regional Workshop, Phuket
– Cambodia finalized its workplan in April 2003

• Conduct Information campaign and awareness
raising
• Strengthen the Capacity of Policy-Makers
• Establish the Institutional Framework for the
CDM
• Strengthening the Capacity of Private and Public
Sector Players
• Creating a pipeline of CDM projects

AIT’s role as Regional Center
• In Phase II AIT will work with Participating countries to achieve
the goals through
– Provide analytical support to the project
– Guidance on application and testing of guidelines and manuals
– Support the national team on diagnosis, analysis and studies on policies
and strategies for CDM
– Support conduct of, and participation in, the national workshops.
– Organization and conduct of regional and training workshops.
– Collaboration in training activities related to the Project
• 2 Regional Workshops and 1 Extended workshop planned for
each year
• The first RW for Phase II from 19th – 21st November 2003,

CDM underway – surveys in Hanoi and Ho-Chi-Minh

– Preparing CDM program for Viet Nam Television
– Completing and publishing CDM pamphlet.
• Preparation for establishment of CNA underway
• Identifying CDM project ideas in energy sector.
• Investigating, researching, designing and
proposing model of financial mechanism applied
for CDM projects in industry sector.
Cambodia
• The agreement for Phase II work with URC
finalized

• Establishing CDM National Authority
– Min. of Env’ as the Interim DNA for Cambodia
