Terminology
• Joint: Where bones come
together.
• Types of joints:
• 1. Ball & Socket
• 2. Hinge joint
• 3.Condyloid
• Bursae: Pouches of
synovial fluid that cushion
the movement of tendons
& muscle over bone &
other joint structures.
• Tendons: Collagen fibers
connecting muscle to
bone.
• Ligaments: ropelike
bundles of collagen fibers
that connect bone to bone
• Cartilage: A collagen
matrix forms cartilage that
overlies bony surfaces.
Alignment of The Spine
• Lordosis: Accentuation of
normal lumbar region
concavity
• Kyphosis: A rounded
enhanced convexity of the
thoracic region vertebrae
• Scoliosis:A lateral
curvature of the spine
