Global impact!



This problem is affecting many low- middle
income countries
Childhood obesity will lead to adult obesity and
as a result lead to increased non-communicable
diseases
This provides the low income countries with at
double burden of disease as they still have
higher rates of under-nutrition and infectious
diseases.
Health consequences of fiscal
policies and subsidies



The USA subsidizes corn and soybeans which
produces many unhealthy food choices for a
artificially reduced rate.
Are most healthy calories then become more
expensive
Norway and Ireland have made successful gains
in healthy food choices for all economic groups
by targeting appropriate food subsidies.
