Transcript Indwelt by the Holy Spirit

Have you ever purchased a
home? What did it feel like when
you received your title? How
about when you first walked in
the front door as the new owner?
Romans 8:9 teaches us that the
Holy Spirit, likewise, ‘takes up
residency’ or ‘dwells’ in the life of
a believer. Describe ways that
God’s Spirit is evident in your life.
Read Ephesians 1:13-14. Explain
the meaning behind being ‘sealed.’
What contemporary examples can
you give to describe this concept?
According to the following
passages, what is the Holy Spirit’s
role in the life of a person who has
accepted Christ as their Lord and
Savior? John 14:16-17; 16:7-11,13;
1 Cor. 12:4-7; Gal. 5:16,22-25.
Years ago, author Robert Munger
wrote a short study entitled, “My
Heart, Christ’s Home.” He explains
how different rooms of the house can
represent various categories of the
heart. Review the rooms of the heart
discussed Sunday (listed below).
In which of the following do you
believe the Holy Spirit has the most
ownership in your heart? Which one
needs some ‘house cleaning?’
1. Dining room - appetites of the heart
2. Living room - companionship of the heart
3. Rec. room - entertainment of the heart
4. Study - intimacy of the heart
5. Closet - secrets of the heart
What is the Holy Spirit asking
you to change in order for Him to
have control over all the rooms
of your heart?
