Let’s greet them and invite them to the stage.
Student 1: Handedness - the idea that one hand is better able to perform
certain tasks than the other. Let's look at why only around one in ten
people is left-handed. Why are lefties are so rare – or, why are most of us
righties?
It seems like a simple question, but it's actually one of the biggest mysteries
in all of science. But exactly why humans favor different hands, or why most
people tend to be right-handed, remains mysterious. The most common
answer is that handedness is determined by the structure of our brains,
which are divided into two hemispheres. Each hemisphere generally
controls the opposite side of the body, so the end result is that most people
are right-handed.
Let's consider some of the problems here. Should a person's dominant hand be
determined by the hand they prefer to use, or the hand that performs better in
tests? In other words, is handedness primarily psychological or physiological?
Even if you can sort that out, there's still the question of how to categorize all
this. Should left-handed and right-handed be considered precisely equal, or does
the fact that such a vast majority of people are right-handed suggest that the
people are simply either right or non-right? That's a bit of a charged way to look
at things, but it does have some popularity in scientific literature.

Scientific Left Handed Facts
Make up between 5% and 10% of the population .
More likely to have allergies
More prone to migraines
More likely to be insomniacs
Three times more likely to become alcoholics – the right
side of the brain has a lower tolerance to alcohol!
Better at multi-tasking
Live on average 9 years less than right handed people
Make especially good baseball players, tennis players,
swimmers, boxers and fencers (almost 40% of the top
tennis players are lefties
Draw figures facing to the right
Recover from strokes faster
More likely to pursue creative careers
On a QWERTY keyboard there are 1447 English words
typed solely with the left hand, whilst only 187 are typed
with the right hand.
Right Brain Dominant:
The left hemisphere (RIGHT HAND CONTROL) controls
Speech, Language, Writing, Logic, Mathematics, Science,
this is the LINEAR THINKING MODE. The right hemisphere
(LEFT HAND CONTROL) controls Music, Art, Creativity,
Perception, Emotions, Genius, this is the HOLISTIC
THINKING MODE.
This brain dominance makes left-handers more likely than
right handers to be creative, and visual thinkers. This is
supported by higher percentages of left-handers than normal
in certain jobs and professions - music and the arts, media in
general. Left-handers are also usually pretty good at most
ball sports and things involving hand-to-eye co-ordination.
Left Brain Dominant:
To Do lists will work well for you, and you’re probably already an
expert at them!
You might find that you’re more partial to non-fiction reading. You
probably work better alone than in a group. If you must be in a
group, volunteer as leader. Take advantage of your organizational skills in taking notes and scheduling. Push yourself to
take risks!
Most left-handed males are born during the winter . Lefties are
cool.
Only one in ten people in the world are left handed. 7.5 percent of
women and 8.8 percent of men were left-handed. more people
were born left-handed in November, December, and January. On
a monthly average, 8.2 percent of left-handed men were born
during the period February to October. During November to
January, this number rose to 10.5 percent. Why? Right handed
people are left-hemisphere dominant, while left handed people are
right-hemisphere dominant.

right to wear his gun on the left side.
II. Left-handers should be allowed to use their left hand
when they shake hands or salute
III. In general, as statistics says, there are much more
talented people among lefties, than among righties.
Of course, you cannot count or measure talent, but
psychologists give the following real numbers: it turns out
that among lefties there are 20% of talented people, and
among right – handed people – only 5%
