• Positive number: A number greater than zero
• Negative number: A number less than zero
• Opposites: Two numbers whose sum is 0.
(3 and -3 are opposites)
• Number sentence: A mathematical statement that gives
the relationship between two expressions that are
composed of numbers and operation signs
( 3 + 2 = 5)
• Integers: A set of whole numbers, their opposites, and
zero.
• Rational numbers: Numbers that can be expressed as a
quotient of two integers where the divisor is not zero.
