Multiple identities
It is very difficult to describe yourself using just one word.
Do you think you could do it?
I’m a school pupil, and I’m also
a girl guide, and a shop assistant,
and a ballet dancer…
I’m a school pupil, and I’m also
a footballer, and a drummer…
Because so many things go into making us who we are, we
do not have one identity but rather multiple identities. Every

What groups do we belong to?
Throughout your life you will belong to many different groups
and communities.
These groups and
communities are what
help to shape and
define your identity.
How many different groupings can you form in your class?
These could be groupings based on gender, hair colour,
beliefs, background, taste in music or anything else you like!
