Do you recognise any of these formula?
A = ½(L x W)
T = g² + 1
H = 5y + k
W=M÷N
D = 3e + f
V=LxWxH
y = 2z + 3
V = L³
Z = abc
A = L²
L = √A
s = t² - 3
A=LxW

How could you put these scenarios into a
formula?
1) You are visiting to Egypt to see the
pyramids. Hotel rooms cost £60 per room
per night plus £10 transfer from the
airport. Write a formula the total cost. How
much would it cost for one person to stay
for 7 nights?
Total Cost = number of nights x £60 + £10
T = 60n + 10

How could you put these scenarios into a
formula?
1) To visit the biggest pyramid, it costs
£10 for adults, £6 for children and £5
per group for a guide. Write a formula
for the total cost. How much would it
cost for your family to visit?
Total Cost = (10 x no. of adults) + (6 x no. of children) + £5
T = 10a + 6c + 5

Choose a formula and on your brick show how you
substitute numbers into the formula. Pick your own
numbers.
