The Royal Tombs of Ur
The Royal Tombs of Ur

The Royal Tombs of Ur was a place where
dead people were put. In the 1800 C.
Leonardo Woolly discovered 16 tombs and
explored them until 1934. When he went
to go explore them he found many tombs.
One tomb he found was called the Great
Death Pit. When he was exploring he
found this one special tomb that had earth
in it.


How my topic is similar to today is that
today we still use tombs or small
chambers to store people that were
important or people that fought in
important battles. In The Royal Tombs of
Ur sometimes they would put people that
were in battles that were important and
that people remember.


One invention the Sumerians made was the
wheel. It was created in 8,000 B.C in Asia. Later
the Egyptians improved the wheel and put them
on chariots. Writing was important to Sumerian
fathers because they wanted to have there kids
to be better and smart. They had scribes or
people who could read and write draw pictures
of things that happen in life so there sons could
learn.


How my topic is similar to life today or
used today is. People still write today just
not on clay tablets, on paper. It was also
important to us to that people learn how
to read and write. Also people still draw
pictures to help them understand events
that happen in live long ago in the past or
now in the present.
