• Sumerians believed in education.
Recording things were very important to
them. They wanted there sons to learn
how to read and write. There written
language called cuneiform. Schools were
attached to temples. Only boys went to
school. Teachers were very strict.
Students were whipped by teachers if they
did a bad job in school. Students would
want to go to school any way.

• Students went to school any way even if
they get whipped by the teachers. The
reason why they would get hit by the
teachers in school is if they did any thing
wrong. Teachers were very strict. It is
different today because in Mesopotamia
only the rich boys could go to school. Now
boys and girls can go to school. Also it
does not matter if you are smart and rich
to go to school.

word for between the rivers.
Next to Mesopotamia are two
rivers named Tigris and
Euphrates river. Mesopotamia
is made of different religions,
each has its own geography.
Northern Mesopotamia is
made of hills and plains. The
southern of Mesopotamia is
made of marshy areas and
wide, flat barren plains. Cities
are developed on the rivers
which flow past the region.
