When use the simple past?
Is used to talk about actiond wich
happened and were completed at a
specific moment in the past.
The past tense form of most regular verbs is made by
adding –ed
The past tense form of irregular verbs changed
completely and it is necessary to memorize them.
 Regulars Verbs
 Ending in –e, add –d
Love – loved
hope – hoped
decide – decided
 Regulars verbs ending in consonant and y change the
y to i and add –ed:
Carry - carried
cry – cried
study – studied
 Regular verbs ending in one stressed vowel and one
consonant( except w or y) double the consonant and
the add – ed.
Stop – stopped
plan – planned transmit – transmitted
Change the next verbs to past:

2.-arrive
7.-move
3.-ask
8.-need
4.-become
9.-travel
5.-consult
10.-see
11.-think
12.-tell
13.-dream
14.-participate
15.-join
 QUESTIONS
 Are formed in the same way as those of regular verbs( with
did and infinitive)
He did not write
They did not go
Did he write?
Did they go?
For short answer only the subject and the auxiliary verb are
used:
Did he play basketball? Yes, he did / No, he didn´t
 Elaborate questions with each picture, use the past
tense.
 Elaborate in your notebook sentences with the next
pictures
 Invent a mistery history with the next verbs, use the
past tense. Minimium 10 lines
