• “ly” Word: The fox casually mentioned how pleased he
would be to hear the crow sing.
• Because: The hare was delighted because he knew it
would be an easy race.

• 1. Subject Opener:
What is a subject?
The subject of a sentence is the person, place, thing, or idea that is
doing or being something. You can find the subject of a sentence if
you can find the verb. Ask the question, "Who or what 'verbs' or
'verbed'?" and the answer to that question is the subject.
The tortoise felt confident and challenged the hare race.
One cloudy morning, a powerful lion meandered through the woods.
However, he was a quaint little man with a green suit.

What is a preposition?
a word governing, and usually preceding, a noun or pronoun and
expressing a relation to another word or element in the clause, as in “the
man on the platform,” “she arrived after dinner,” “what did you do it for ?

Up above the village, Peter sat and wondered how to relieve his boredom.
Since last year, the killer bees have been found as far north as Arizona.
