Changing Verbs
Some verbs in Spanish are a little trickier
when you conjugate them because they
take on a spelling change in their stem.
Look at the following forms of the verb
“dormir”:
yo
duermo
tú
duermes
nosotros dormimos
Ud./él/ella duerme Uds./ellos/ellas duermen
Notice how the o changed to ue in all
forms except for “nosotros”.
Let’s do some practice. What is
the “tú” form of the verb “dormir”?
That’s right… it’s duermes!
Let’s do a few more. What is the
“ellos” form of the verb “contar”?
That’s right… it’s cuentan!
What is the “nosotros” form of the
verb “volver”?
That’s right… it’s volvemos!
What is the “yo” form of the verb
“rogar”?
That’s right… it’s ruego!
What is the “ellos” form of the
verb “volver”?
That’s right… it’s vuelven!
What is the “nosotros” form of the
verb “dormir”?
That’s right… it’s dormimos!
VOILA!
