Other reflexive verbs
• reflexive verb => person doing the action is
the same person receiving the action
– me visto => I dress myself
– visto a mi perro => I dress my dog
• Reflexive verbs have reflexive pronouns that
show who the action is being done to: me, te,
se, nos, se
• Some verbs use reflexive pronouns but are
not reflexive – they often describe a change
in mental, emotional, or physical state and
can express the idea that someone gets or
becomes.
Examples of these verbs are:
• aburrirse => to get bored
• alegrarse => to become happy
• casarse => to get married
• divertirse => to have fun
• dormirse => to fall asleep (to become asleep)
• enojarse => to become angry
• ponerse (furioso, alegre, etc.) => to become
(furious, happy, etc.)
• volverse loco => to go crazy
