{Online Skills Inventory, Gardiner’s Intelligences WS, Group task}
Bellringer:
Read the excerpt from the article “The I.Q. Question” you read in class
Tuesday. Summarize the paragraph in 1-2 sentences.
“Those who oppose IQ tests point out that these tests are too limiting. The
tests seem to measure only what people already know rather than their
ability to learn new information. Opponents of current IQ tests say that
there are many types of intelligence. Dr. Howard Gardner developed a
theory of multiple intelligences. According to Gardner, there are eight
different types of intelligence. A person could show abilities in one or more
areas that far exceed the abilities of other people in his or her age group
but not score well on a standard IQ test. Such a test can measure only a
few of the eight types of intelligence identified by Gardner” (63).
