Complex Sentence
A complex sentence has one
independent clause and one or
more dependent clauses
Remember…
An independent clause is a clause
that can stand alone. It is a group
of words that contains a subject
and verb and expresses a
complete thought.
Dependent Clause
A dependent clause is a group of
words with a subject and verb that
cannot stand alone.
Examples: The players went out
for pizza after they practiced.
After the players practiced, they
went out for pizza.
