Answer: La manzana esta verde Translation: The apple is
green. The 1st sentence describes the condition of the apple.
Concept (or rule) Ser vs. estar (the verbs “to be”)
Explain: The 1st sentence means the apple is not ripe, while the
2nd sentence means it’s the color green To address condition, use
estar. Estar is an irregular verb. It does not follow the standard
rules of conjugation for regular -ar verbs. Therefore, you must
memorize it.

Why is it important to be cautious
when preparing & storing food?
Answer: It’s important to be cautious when preparing & storing
food so you can avoid food-borne illnesses.
Cite Evidence: It’s important to thoroughly cook food and not
let cooked food touch raw food or areas where raw food has been.
You should also put leftovers in the refrigerator and wash your
hands after handling raw food. Use paper towels and not sponges
to clean up surfaces.
Expand: If you don’t handle and store food properly, the
microorganisms can make you sick, like running a fever,
throwing up, diarrhea, dizziness, dry mouth and dehydration.
