OR
How do I know which D.O.P. to
use?
1st – Decide if the noun/pronoun you are
replacing is masculine or feminine.
Masculine – me, te, lo, nos, los
Femenine – me, te, la, nos, las
2nd – Decide if the noun/pronoun you are
replacing is singular or plural.
Singular – me, te, lo, la
Plural – nos, los, las
Figure out which D.O.P. to use based on
the above steps.
EXAMPLE
Quiero comprar el disco compacto de
Rhiana.
Our D.O. is el disco compacto.
We know that it is just one, so singular.
me, te, lo, or la are our choices
We know that it is masculine based on
the object “el”
me, te, or lo
We know that it is not a person, so the
D.O.P. has to be lo.
Your Turn…
Necesito comer la cena antes de dormir.
What is your D.O.?
Is it masculine or feminine?
Is it singular or plural?
Is it a person or an object?
What is your final answer?
Answer
If you answered la, you’re right!
La necesito comer antes de
dormir.
La replaces
cena.
