Simple Tenses

The tense of a verb shows the time of
the action or state of being. There are
three basic tenses: present tense, past
tense, and future tense. These are
called the simple tenses.
Examples:
Present Tense
Water covers most of the earth’s surface.
Past Tense
Many changes in the ocean happened over time.
Future Tense
Scientists will study more forms of ocean like in
coming years.
Directions: For 1-5 on page 166,
write the verb or verb phrase.
