What’s an infinitive?
• In Spanish: they end in an –ar, -er, or –ir
• In English: To___________…
• Hablar – to talk
• Comer – to eat
• Vivir – to live

• Every infinitive has a stem and an ending.

What is conjugating?
• Not a cool gathering of friends.
• To conjugate means to change the endings of
a verb to make it agree with who or what
you’re talking about.
• (We’ll talk more about this in a minute)
How do I conjugate?
1. You take off the infinitive’s ending.
2. Add the ending that corresponds with
the person you are talking about.
