GRAMMAR TERMS TO KNOW

Infinitive:
The basic form of the verb. In English the infinitive is
to + action (ex. To run). In Spanish the infinitive is
one word ending in –ar, -er, or –ir (Ex. Correr).

Conjugation:
Changing a verb from the infinitive form so that it
matches the subject(s). (Ex. To run changes to He
runs)

Subject:
The person, place, or thing being described or doing
something.

Subject Pronouns:
A pronoun that replaces the subject. (Ex. Replacing
Juan with He or Él)

The verb Ser means “To be”
 We’ve used various forms of ser already to say
who someone is, where someone is from, or to
give an email, phone number, time, or the date.








