Grammar Rules
Pronouns
1. Use as a S, DO, PN, or IO
2. Personal pronouns may be adjectives
3. Relative pronouns may introduce adjective
clauses

Prepositions
1. First word in a prepositional phrase.
2. Prepositional phrase – begins with a
preposition and ends with a noun or pronoun
called the OBJECT OF THE PREPOSITION

Linking/Helping Verbs
1. Help the main verb (usually action).
2. The main verb determines if the phrase is
action or linking. IF the main verb is action,
the phrase is action; IF the main verb is
linking, the phrase is linking

1. Not/Never – adverbs…always
2. Adjective Phrases can only FOLLOW the noun
