½” - 1” margins, 10-12 pt. font
Keep it simple (white paper, black ink –
no colors or graphics)
Use a consistent format
Place most relevant information at top

TAILOR your resume to each specific
position
Be truthful
Avoid personal pronouns (“I” or “my”)
Avoid acronyms (SPOP, ASUCI)
Have it proofread!!

 Use a header that takes several lines
 Use 12 pt. font
 Work with your margins
 Use columns to list courses and skills
 Include relevant courses
I have too much content to fit on one page!
 Use a smaller font size (10-11pt) and margins
 Type contact information in one line
 Wrap skills with commas (no columns)
 Combine bullet points
 Include only the most relevant and recent experiences
