Inverted Order
• Sentence that begins with all or part of the predicate.
• Subject verb agreement can be tricky in these
sentences.
• 1st identify subject, 2nd make verb agree
Example
– Here is the science museum.

Interrupted Order
• Mr. Gabe talking/Ranissa interrupting/Mr. Gabe
talking
• When words come between the subject and the
verb it is in interrupted order
• Noun closest to verb is not always subject
• Find subject carefully then choose verb
according to singular or plural
• Example
– McKayla, who is dressed up today, has her hair
down.
