NetAcumen ActiveX Install Instructions
Requirements:
Administrator: User must be logged in as Administrator of the
machine. If you are not the administrator, you will need to contact your
helpdesk.
Internet Browser: Netacumen is ONLY compatible with Microsoft
Internet Explorer 8.0 or lower (32-bit only) and Netscape. It will not work
with Safari, Mozilla Firefox, etc.
Windows OS: Netacumen is Windows based and compatible with
Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Recommended Client System Requirements:
 Windows Vista or Windows 7 Operating System
 Intel Core i3(or higher) processor
 2 GB RAM
 4 GB of available disk space
 Internet Connectivity via TCP/IP to connect to the NetAcumen
server(s)
 Microsoft Office 2007 recommended. However we do support
Microsoft Office 2010 as well.
 Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.0 or lower (32-bit only) for Windows to
display ActiveX objects, such as the Grid, Crosstab, and Reports.
Please note that the 64-bot version of IE is not supported.
 MSIE requires Active X downloads for first time users, as well as
periodically due to maintenance efforts. Downloading and installing
Active X controls require administrative privileges on the client work
station
 Windows English Language Locale Service Pack must be installed
for viewing NetAcumen display
 Please note that NetAcumen is not supported on the 64-bit version of
the Internet Explorer. This is commonly available on 64 bit version of
the Windows Operating System. (see additional details in
troubleshooting section of this guide)
Firewall Specification Requirement – Maintain persistent session for
60 minutes.

Summary of steps
Please note that this process requires a reboot.
Each step listed below is detailed in the pages that follow.
We recommend printing this document prior to beginning –
especially since you will be rebooting.

Remove existing Active X controls via Add or Remove programs

Click Start  Settings  Control Panel  Add/Remove Programs OR
Programs and Features (If the client machine is Windows 7)

In Add or Remove Programs, find Sagent Weblink Controls
 Click Change/Remove

You will be prompted to confirm.
 Click Yes.

•You may or may not receive one of the messages below.
If so, please simply click ‘ok’ button.

•Click Start / Run
•Type: C:\WINDOWS
•You may see something similar to below screenshot (if the user has
Windows XP) If so, please click
‘Show the contents of this folder’. Once you have clicked this (or if you did
not see this screen), please go on to the step in the next slide.

•Find Downloaded Program Files
•Find Sagent Universal Sink Host Control
•Highlight and Delete

•You will be prompted to be sure you want to permanently remove.
•Click Yes.

Reboot
Once you’ve removed the controls, you’ll need to restart your machine
before beginning the next steps.

Run the Sagent Installer

Download the Sagent Weblink Client Installer.
 Double click the installer and follow the steps.
 You may get the following message – Please click on “RUN” to continue

Click Next to Continue..

Please accept the agreement and click Next…

Unattended Client Set-up
 An
unattended installation program
executes without displaying any dialog
boxes, prompting the user for input, or
displaying an icon in the system taskbar.
 Unattended installations are useful for
system administrators to streamline the
install process

Notes on Weblink Client Set-up
 If
a administrator installs the client, a
normal user can then use the NetAcumen
Portal.
 Active-X download is no longer required in
this case.
 To un-install, please follow the steps in
slides 5 through 8.

Known Issues/Risks

The installer does not generate a install log
which can be used for trouble-shooting.
 All Excel and IE windows should be closed while
the install is in progress. Although this does not
cause errors during the install process, but may
render the controls un-usable.
 The controls are not backward compatible and
hence should never be installed prior to the
upgrade.
