Problem Statement




Learning Team A has been requested to consult on a new Wide Area Network for
Acme Manufacturing.
The new network should include all new equipment
The company has multiple locations both domestic and international.
Must support weekly meetings at headquarters with multiple remote locations in
attendance.

Network Design



Acme has six sites in six distinct geographic locations.
Two Locations in Atlanta, Georgia, One in each of the following Phoenix,
New York, Chicago and one international location in China.
From a topology standpoint a Star Network is suggested with the Atlanta,
Georgia Head Quarters acting as the central hub.

Network Equipment



It is suggested that within the local area Ethernet technologies are utilized.
To connect from China to Head Quarters a satellite connection is suggested due to the
geographic distance involved.
From domestic locations, leased T3 lines are recommended to maintain connectivity
between location.




VLAN will be used to segregate the Network.
VLAN will offer superior security
VLAN will allow for the sharing of network resources over large geographic
networks.
