What does rotate mean and what
does it have to do with the earth?
Rotate means to stay in one place and
spin around.

does it have to do with the earth?
Revolve means to move around something.
The moon revolves around the earth.
The earth and moon revolve around the sun.

Inside of telescopes there are
Convex lenses that help you
see the stars and planets.

1.4 million kilometers or
870,000 miles wide.
Earth is only 8760 miles wide.

But it really is a medium size star.
Then why does it look so big to us???

makes the stars LOOK like they are moving when
really it is just the earth moving.

axis is the main reason.
The tilt of the earth causes
some parts of the earth
to get direct sunlight
(more heat) and other
parts of the earth to get
indirect sunlight (less
heat).

moon than on earth?
Gravity is the measure of how much gravity
it takes to hold you down on earth.
