Foreword
Introduction to ACS Seminar 2016
ACS is the association of six classification societies headquartered in Asia
namely BKI (Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia), CCS (China Classification Society),
ClassNK (Nippon Kaiji Kyokai), IRS (Indian Register of Shipping), KR (Korean
Register) and VR (Vietnam Register).
ACS (Association of Asian Classification Societies) organizes regular technical
seminars in the Asian region. In this year, the ACS Seminar on Shipping and
Shipbuilding will be held on August 2, 2016 at Harris Hotel & Convention
Kelapa Gading, Jakarta.
The Seminar will focus on safety and environmental topics and recent
international regulatory developments relating to shipping and shipbuilding,
which will bring together members of the Asian maritime community and
regional maritime professionals.
Speakers from the member societies of ACS, including Chairman and members
of ACS Technical Management Group (TMG) and Working Groups (WG), and
the invited guest speakers from the various maritime organizations in Asia will
cover a wide range of topics such as:
- Asian Maritime Industry Trend & Strategy
- Green Ship Technology
- Class Rules and Maritime Regulations
ACS provides technical contribution to Asian Maritime Industries through
development of various Technical Guidelines such as SCR system,
Procurement and Installation of BWTS, Noises on Board Ships, EEOI and
SEEMP.
