How Can I become a Better
Person
The MBTI Personality Test
and Islam (with transliteration)
Identify your inborn preferences and
Refine them!
Rules
 “Kullun Muyassarun lima khuliqa lah…”
 “…Our Lord is He Who gave to each thing
its form and nature, then guided it
aright.”(Ch. 20, verse 50)
Rules (Cont’d)
 Everybody is born for a reason and has a
mission in life. Allah endows us with
capabilities to do our mission in life.
 Complementarity in the world.
Rules (Cont’d)
 We have to identify our skills/capabilities
with Allah’s guidance, improve and
capitalize on them for the dawah’s sake.
 We have to refine weaknesses in view of
Islamic manners (Qur’an + Prophetic
guidance)
Outcome
“Whosoever does righteous good deed, it is for
(the benefit of) his own self; and whosoever
does evil, it is against his own self. And your
Lord is not at all unjust to (His) slaves” (Ch. 41,
verse 46)
“Righteousness is good character and wrong
doing is that which wavers in your heart and
about which you do not want people to know”
(Prophet Muhammad PBUH)

 Introvert:
 Don’t hold grudges…”Those who spend (in
Allah’s cause) in prosperity and in adversity,
who repress anger, and who pardon men;
verily, Allah loves those who do good to others.”
(Ch. 3, verse 134). A higher station: “The good
deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. Repel
(the evil) with one which is better…” (Ch. 41,
verse 34)
 Husn ath-than… Make good excuses even for
those who treat you badly... “O you who
believe! Avoid much suspicion; indeed some
suspicions are sins…” (Ch. 49, verse 12).

 Sensing:
 Tawakkol – Relying on Allah SWT. You can never
take EVERYTHING into consideration…
 Don’t plot too much! “…But the evil plot
encompasses only him who makes it….” (Ch. 35,
verse 43).
 Intuition:
 Watch out from too much hope/dreaming…
“satan makes promises to them, and arouses in
them false desires; and satan’s promises are
nothing but deceptions” (Ch. 4, verse 120).
Main Islamic Refining (refer to
Handout)
 Thinking:
 Don’t be too blunt… “Invite mankind to the Way of
your Lord (Islam) with wisdom and fair preaching,
and argue with them in a way that is better…” (Ch.
16, verse 125).
 “And by the Mercy of Allah, you dealt with them
gently. And had you been severe and harsh-hearted,
they would have broken away from about you… “
(Ch. 3, verse 159).
 Feeling:
 Allah SWT comes first: “… So follow not the lusts (of
your heart), lest you avoid justice; and if you distort
your witness or refuse to give it, verily Allah is Ever
Well-Acquainted with what you do.” (Ch. 4, verse
135).
