Sanskrit
• Sanskrit is an Aryan language
that many Indian languages
are based on.
Buddhism
• Buddhism is the religion that
teaches a calm mind, love,
truth, and the joy of
knowledge.
Untouchables
• The untouchables were at the
bottom of the Hindu caste
system in society of ancient
India.
Inoculations
• Inoculations were used by
Indian doctors to prevent
diseases more than a century
before European and
American doctors used them.

of inoculations are the flue
shot, chicken pox shots,
pneumonia shot, hepatitis B
shots, and tetnus shots.

brought by the Aryans when
they entered India.

• The founder of Buddhism was
Gautama, and the followers of
Buddhism are known as
Buddhists.

• The Aryans brought horses,
the Vedas, and the belief in
reincarnation. Also the caste
system to India.
Arabic Numerals
• The importance of Arabic
numerals is obvious in that
Arabic numerals are still used
today.
Brahmans
• The Brahmans made up the
head in the Indian caste
system. The Brahmans were
also called priests and
scholars.
Question
• The main question that caused
the Buddhist religion to exist
is: Why is there so much
suffering in the world, and how
might it be ended?
Competition
• When the Aryans first made
their way into India, they
competed for farmland with
each other.
Ashoka
• When Ashoka conquered the
Kalinga people he realized that
his way of ruling was cruel.
Ashoka soon became a
Buddhist and changed from a
cruel ruler into a fair one.
