Streptococcus (responsible
for strep throat)
Escherichia coli (E-coli)
bacillus anthracis causes anthrax
in sheep cattle and humans
• They can form endospores which are
essential for bacteria if nutrients are
lacking in their environment
• They can also withstand very hot
temperatures and very cold temperatures
due to adaptation
• Mutation occurs when the cells multiply
and there is an error so these errors can
help bacteria withstand harsh conditions
• We believe that bacteria is a simple
kingdom because they are unicellular and
their cell structures are simple.
• It could also be considered complex
because there are so many different types
of bacteria and they can withstand such
harsh conditions
• Bacteria used to be considered a part of the
protest kingdom
• Bacteria is in many foods like yogurt and
cheese
• Bacteria ferments beer and wine
• The best way to remove bacteria from
water is to boil it because harmful bacteria
can not survive the heat
