TERMINOLOGY
• Aerobes – require oxygen to make energy
– Most plants, animals & some bacteria
– Staphylococcus
• Anaerobes – not require oxygen to make energy
– Some fungi & bacteria (for some O2 can be toxic )
– Tetanus
• Facultative Anaerobes – function w/ or w/o O2
– Yeast
– Listeria
