Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)
of Lung:
B
C
This 50 year-old female with multiple treated
metastases from uveal melanoma
developed a solitary left lung metastasis.
Given her excellent performance status but
limited life expectancy, she was referred for
RFA. In the prone position, the nodule is
identified (Arrow, A). The RFA electrode was
placed directly into the tumor (B). Imaging
one year after ablation demonstrates
scarring alone in the previous tumor location
(Arrow, C). Two years after ablation, she
succumbed to her unrelenting hepatic
metastases.
