Importing/Exporting between
Fireworks and Dreamweaver
For
Buttons, Navigation Bar and
Animated Banners
Animated banner
• You should have already created and saved
your animated banner as an animated gif
• Open Dreamweaver and create a new HTML
page
Insert the animated banner
• Position the cursor on the web page where
you want the banner to go
– Select Insert, Image
– Browse and select the animated gif you created
for the banner
Make sure you
select the file that
looks like this:
Not like this:
Buttons and Navigation bar
• You should have already created and saved
your buttons and navigation bar as HTML and
Image
• Open Dreamweaver and create a new HTML
page OR
• Better still, use the existing page you created
for your buttons and navigation bar
Insert Buttons and Navigation Bar
• Position the cursor on the web page where
you want the buttons/navigation bar to go
– Select Insert, Image Objects, Fireworks HTML
– Browse and select the HTML file you created for
button
Make sure you
select the HTML
file that looks like
this:
Saving and Previewing
• Dreamweaver will ask you to save the website
every time you preview
• Make sure you save it in the same folder as
your Fireworks objects
• Preview by selecting File, Preview in Browser,
Iexplore
• Check the web page that shows up that your
objects work as intended
