Progress Tracker and
the 4 I Model
What is Progress Tracker?
• A reporting system updated and published to
parents/carers six times every academic year
• Progress tracker reports on the ACADEMIC
PROGRESS and EFFORT of every student from Year
10 to Year 13
Why do we use it?
To drive learning
and achievement
• Students, parents/carers, Senior Leadership Team,
Curriculum Directors, subject teachers,Learning
Managers and Professional Learning Mentors are
better informed
• Individual students, groups and departments can be
tracked against predictions based on their prior
attainment and current performance
• It identifies where intervention is required..
..before it is too late!
Progress Tracker and the 4 I Model
Information gathering Identify
Systematic Intervention Measured Impact
• Information gathering – Data input creates an
interactive database
• Individual students are identified and tracked against
predictions based on their prior attainment and
current performance
• Systematic intervention then follows in order to get
them ‘back on track’
• Impact measured by results of next Progress tracker
Attainment Grade

incident. It is the end of a process which has involved
the subject teacher in ALL of the following processes:
• Student informed that they are likely to be awarded an E5 if an
improvement is not made
• Faculty detentions.
• Curriculum Director involved in looking at different teaching
strategies to meet the needs of the student
• Learning Manager involvement
• Phone call home to parents/carers
• Meeting with parents/carers and student in the UTC to discuss
concerns and agree strategies for improvement
Coursework/Homework
• It is vital to flag up any coursework/homework issues
as early as possible
• Each subject teacher will keep an up to date record of
coursework/homework completed/assessed
• These results will be continually updated on a
department database and monitored by the
Curriculum Director
• If students are behind in coursework (c) or
homework (h) is not handed in there is a box to alert
everyone that there is an issue
Attendance
If there is a concern about
attendance there is a box to
alert everyone that this is an
issue.
