Milk
1. It is recommended that we switch to low-fat
or fat-free milk and get least 3 cups daily from
the Dairy food group.
Important thing to NOTE:
• Trim Fat, not Nutrients!
• Some have mistakenly
taken milk out because
of fad diets
• Skim or 1% can actually
enhance your eating
plan- the same amount
of nutrients

Processing Milk
7. Milk goes through several treatments before it is
safe to drink. Two of these processes are:

Pasteurization: milk that
has been heat treated to
remove or kill harmful
organisms.

fat particles in milk have
been broken down and

together again.

First off, How is ice cream really made?
School-made Ice-Cream!
• Come up to the demo table and grab things in the
order I have them set out.
• You will start out with your 1st quart bag. You will
put all of the ice cream ingredients in it.
• Duct tape this 1st bag shut!!
• Put this 1st bag into the 2nd quart bag.
• In your 3rd gallon bag, you will put in the ice and
rock salt. Carefully place your ice-cream mixture
into this final bag.
• Grab a towel. Place this towel around the outside.
Start shaking for 5-7 minutes.
• BE SURE to RINSE the smaller bags before you eat it!
