oAcid = A substance that
donates/release H+ in solution.
oBase = A substance that reduced the
amount of H+ in solution.

1)Solute being dissolved accepts

This is the buffering system in human blood.
Carbonic Acid (H2CO3) & Bicarbonate ion (HCO3-)

from?
A: CO2 + H2O ; products of cellular
respiration
Blood pH = 7.4 ; more than a pH change of
+/- 0.2 in blood = death!
