Challenges :- Coordination &
Harmonization
 In silo thinking
 Among Govt institutions and, DPs/NGOs
 Limitation on choice of thematic Intervention areas
by DPs to support the DRIs (NRM, MAT Vs RKM,
Peace building etc)
 Absence of pull funding system/absence of flagship
program for DRIs (like SLMP/PSNP)
 Inadequate joint planning and Joint regular
supervision including ISM
 Existing DRIs platforms Not yet strong enough to the
required level at all levels
Challenges Cont’d
 No strong linkage b/n humanitarian and development initiatives
 No strong linkage among various flagship programs
(SLMP/PSNP/DRSLP)
 Absence of required PFs at sub national levels
• Absence of KM Strategy and knowledge sharing practices
on DRIs
• No strong feed back/reporting mechanism on the
progress of various DRIs
• .. as a result there are over laps of programs/DRIs
Conclusions/Recommendations
• Strengthen the IDDRSI-PCU units at all levels for the proper
coordination and strong leadership
• Establish/strengthen required platforms at all levels (TCs &TFs)
• Design & undertake a harmonized and regular joint planning &
implementation support/ supervision mission and reporting
mechanism
• Establish strong KM system and feed back mechanisms among
stakeholders engaged on drought resilience building initiatives
• Organize a regular learning experience events at all levels
regularly
•Re-enforcing IDDRSI machine: Better coordination & harmonization
for better achievement in building resilience
