Long-term solutions for
minimizing drug usage.
Joanna Buraczynska
•Healthy lifestyle – everyone knows that
negligent lifestyle leads to many diseases
and consequently speed up process of aging
–DUHHH! So, knowing this why we do not
start take care about ourselves right now? To
prevent our health before variety of
diseases, and being forced to taking very
expensive medicine we can use some of the
next presented solutions:
Exercise
• Older adults who have taken time to stretch the main
muscle groups have reported feeling stronger and
having less pain than when they were not in the habit
of stretching.
• Young adults who stretch their muscles regularly
will also reap the benefits of stronger, more flexible
limbs at the older age.
• It really doesn’t have to be a hard professional
training. Three times a week about 30 min is perfectly
fine.
• Of course to maintain a workout regimen we need to
provide the body with necessary nutrition's.
Nutrition
• Avoid junk food as often as possible. The types of
food we are eating have instrumental influence on
our body.
• Most doctors would agree that it is wise to stay away
from large amounts of fat and sugar. Is strongly
recommended to stick with diet high with proteins,
fruits, and vegetables.
• Of course, the importance of taking supplements and
vitamins is very significant. Studies prove, that “by
taking a multivitamin, people can cut their incidence
of infections disease in half” (Crayon).

• However, people must be familiar with consequences
and side effects after consuming particular pill.
• Also, is strongly recommended to be careful with
hormones such as birth control pills for women and
viagra for men.
• The medical consensus is: “If you don’t drink, don’t
start. If you do drink, keep it moderate”. Indeed,
there is evidence that moderate drinking is associated
with a lower risk of heart disease in both sexes, but
once again only moderate drinking.
• Alcohol in bigger doses increase the risk of: stroke,
some cancers, traumatic injury, liver disease,
osteoporosis, breast cancer, high blood pressure,
heart arrhythmia, harm to the fetus in pregnant
women, and of course alcoholism.
Nutrition – continue…
• Stopping smoking is the most important behavior
you can change to lower your risk of heart disease.
Never starting is even better! Smoking as few as three
cigarettes a day makes you seven times more likely
to develop heart disease.
• Absolutely none addictive drugs. Even the most
innocent addiction leads to rehab, non-reversible
changes, or death!
• If this is possible replace some medicine with herbs.
Herbs
• This is not an either/or issue of course. Drugs play a
particular role in healthcare. However, herbs also
have a role to play.
• Herbs have multiple active ingredients, as well as
vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids. In most
cases, the amount of any particular biochemical is
relatively small compared to the amount of a drug
usage. So, the effects would be expected to be weaker
than a drug.
• Anyway, in cases not that serious like a 105F fever,
depression, or some cancer for instance, please
consult with professionals and try to use herbal
treatment instead.
• Please take a note, that after all there is nothing better
than relaxation…
Reduce stress
• Stress can be triggered by any event in everyday life.
We react to stress with our body and mind.
• How our body can react to stress: pounding heart,
raised blood pressure, muscle tension, increased
sweating, change in appetite, rapid breathing spells.
• How our mind can react to stress: poor
concentration, increased frustration, worrying,
thinking about stressful events, tension and anxiety.
• How we may react to stress: waking up at night,
frequent arguments, losing temper, walking, eating
and talking in a hurry, not enjoying previously
interesting activities, losing interest in social life,
family or friends.

• Everything from above is consider as diseases, so
obviously required some medicine to treat it – this is
the first reaction
• Wrong! Because, if we take one moment and think
more clearly, we can come to conclusion in which we
can actually prevent those and end up without any
medicine.
• This kind of thinking leads to smart solution, because
we can have control over some situation and prevent
our system against serious problems such as drug
addiction.
Final word
• We must remember that every addiction starts from
small dosage, and one triggers another. If our mind is
strong and clear enough to recognize necessity of
medicine usage the better health condition we are
going to have during aging process.
• According to this we will be able to avoid the
problem of expensiveness of drugs. The smaller
demand the less expensive drugs may be in the
future. Seems too good to be truth, but we must start
from something, and this is very good start.
• Why? We double the benefits by keeping our system
healthy, having control over happiness, and of course
by saving lots of money!
